A suicide bomber targeted young recruits waiting to register at a military camp in Mogadishu, Somalia, on Sunday, resulting in at least thirteen deaths and twenty-one injuries

The al-Qaida-linked group al-Shabab, notorious for its attacks on military and government installations, continues to perpetrate an ongoing insurgency.

Witnesses described a devastating explosion, noting that the attacker disguised himself as a recruit. This incident follows a similar attack that occurred in July 2023 at the Jaalle Siyaad Military Academy, which claimed the lives of 25 soldiers.
