Africell GSM Company celebrated its 25th anniversary in The Gambia by planting 9,000 mangrove trees in Sanyang.
They partnered with the National Environment Agency (NEA) for this effort. The goal is to protect wildlife and fight climate change, which fits with Africell’s Impact Foundation.
CEO Hussain Diab announced they aim to plant a total of 25,000 trees, having already planted 1,250. The initiative also includes work in health, economy, social welfare, education, and sports.
NEA representative Lamin Jawneh emphasized the importance of restoring the country’s forest cover and educating locals about the benefits of mangroves. Community member Modu N. Sanneh praised Africell for this initiative.
