The International Budget Partnership participated in the 7th High-Level Policy Dialogue & 21st General Assembly in Freetown, Sierra Leone, focusing on “Financing Development Through Effective Tax Systems.”
Key speakers included Yankuba Darboe, who emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and technology in tax reform; Regina Navuga, who highlighted the need for policy coherence; and MariƩme Gnagna Thiam, who advocated the inclusion of marginalized groups in tax proposal development.
The event emphasized the importance of inclusive Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM) for sustainable financing in West Africa. The opening was led by Hon. Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and concluded by Mrs. Kadiatu Alie.
