A Russian farmer, Alexander Chusov, set a national record by growing a 969-kilogram pumpkin, showcased in a hefty vegetable competition with over 3,000 participants. Other notable entries included a 144-kilogram watermelon and a 73-kilogram courgette.

Contest organizer Daria Yermilova likened the event to professional sports due to the commitment required over six months. The top vegetables will be displayed at the Apothecary Garden in Moscow.
