Iran and IAEA have Signed an Agreement Amid Rising Tensions

Iran-nuclear-inspections

By Redaction ARPS with AP

Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have agreed to collaborate on inspecting Iran’s nuclear facilities after a Cairo meeting with Egyptian officials.

This comes amid renewed tensions due to France, Germany, and the UK reimposing sanctions on Iran for non-compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal.

Following Israeli airstrikes, Iran had paused cooperation with the IAEA, which has only recently inspected the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.

The IAEA is currently unable to verify Iran’s nuclear stockpile, raising concerns, while Egypt is facilitating ongoing discussions.
