Sulayman-Jallow-Drug-Conviction

Sulayman Jallow was found guilty of drug possession by a Magistrate’s Court in Banjul and sentenced to a fine of D25,000 or one year in prison if unpaid.

The conviction was based on an incident on December 14, 2023, where he was found with seven rags of cannabis resin during a search. Despite his claim of innocence, the evidence supported his guilt.

As a first-time offender and professional football player, he sought leniency, and the magistrate decided on a non-custodial sentence. Both parties were informed of their right to appeal.
