Ethiopian Airlines Generated $7.6 Billion in Annual Revenue

Ethiopian Airlines achieved a record $7.6 billion revenue in 2024/2025, serving 19.1 million passengers, expanding to 145 destinations, and planning a new mega airport southeast of Addis Ababa to meet growing demand.

On August 5, Ethiopian Airlines announced a revenue of $7.6 billion for the fiscal year 2024/2025, reflecting an 8% growth from the previous year.

The airline carried 19.1 million passengers, comprising 15.2 million international travelers and 3.9 million domestic passengers, along with approximately 785,000 tonnes of cargo.

Over the year, Ethiopian Airlines introduced six new international routes, increasing its network to 145 destinations and acquiring 13 new passenger aircraft.

Plans are in place to acquire an additional 20 aircraft in 2026. In response to the rising number of passengers, the airline is developing a new mega airport situated southeast of Addis Ababa, as the existing airport is approaching an annual capacity of 25 million passengers.
