The presidential election in Cameroon is set for October 12, with 35 appeals being reviewed by the Constitutional Council, primarily from candidates rejected by Elections Cameroon (ELECAM).

Notably, Léon Theiller Onana challenged President Paul Biya’s eligibility, but his appeal was dismissed. Attention is now on Maurice Kamto, leader of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement, who is contesting his exclusion from the election.

This legal struggle is significant for Kamto’s future and the credibility of the electoral process in Cameroon.
