Sona Jobarteh has been Appointed as a Roaming Ambassador for Gambia Tourism Board

Dr. Sona Jobarteh received a GTBoard award in Kololi for promoting Gambian culture through music, appointed as Roaming Ambassador to enhance cultural and educational tourism worldwide, celebrated for her song “Gambia.”

Dr. Sona Jobarteh received an award from GTBoard in Kololi for her contributions to promoting the Gambia through music and culture, especially to younger generations.

She has been appointed as a Roaming Ambassador, tasked with employing a combination of marketing strategies to promote cultural and educational tourism and participating in international events.

GTBoard’s Director General, Aboubacarr S. Camara, praised her global influence, while Dr. Jobarteh highlighted her commitment to her cultural heritage and education in her acceptance speech.

She emphasized her ongoing promotion of the Gambia, referencing her song “Gambia” that celebrates national independence.

Minister for Information Dr. Ismaila Ceesay and GTBoard chairman Dr. Samba Batch Fye recognized her significant impact on the country’s cultural legacy.
