Paul J. Gaye, President of the Gambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (GICA), has denied claims of his removal, stating that the information is incorrect.

A statement from GICA secretary Mamadi Janko suggested that Gaye was removed after an extraordinary meeting due to a lack of confidence in his leadership.

Gaye insists he is the legitimate president, supported by letters from the Minister of Finance, Seedy Keita, who indicated that GICA’s disciplinary committee should investigate allegations against GICA council members.

The Ministry of Finance confirmed that it has not received any formal complaints against Gaye, thereby affirming his position as president.
