MRCG at LSHTM Celebrates the Launch of the African Population Cohorts Consortium (APCC)

The MRC Unit The Gambia at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine has launched the African Population Cohorts Consortium (APCC), which will connect over 40 large-scale population studies from 16 African countries.

The APCC aims to enhance research on critical health issues relevant to African communities, with a focus on areas such as climate change and healthcare access.

Prof Umberto D’Alessandro from MRCG is part of the Interim Steering Committee. Wellcome has invested £4 million to establish a permanent APCC Secretariat, fostering governance and research collaboration across Africa.
