The Gambian Navy rescued 176 people and stopped 12 illegal fishing boats in the last six months.
Navy Commander Fara Jobe said they conducted 18 sea patrols and 72 river patrols to combat drug trafficking, smuggling, and illegal migration.
He pointed out challenges like a lack of equipment, not enough space for boats, and delays in processing.
Jobe asked for more fuel for operations, better facilities, and improved maritime surveillance with satellite support.
