ECOWAS Launched €105 Million in Regional Initiatives Aimed at Enhancing Peace, Security, and Economic Integration in West Africa

ECOWAS, with EU, Germany, and Spain support, launches €105M initiatives (EPSG, ISE II, ATCMA, AfCFTA – Trade in Services) to boost peace, security, governance, and economic integration in West Africa.

ECOWAS, with support from the EU, Germany, and Spain, has launched four initiatives totaling over €105 million aimed at improving peace, security, and economic integration in West Africa.

The initiatives are:

EPSG: Focuses on conflict prevention and governance.

ISE II: Enhances capacity and sustainability of ECOWAS institutions.

ATCMA: Boosts regional trade competitiveness.

 AfCFTA – Trade in Services: Promotes service exports within the framework of the AfCFTA.

During the launch, ECOWAS President Dr. Omar Alieu Touray emphasized the importance of cooperation for regional stability and development, with partners reaffirming their commitment to good governance, economic growth and human rights.
