In March, Uganda’s coffee exports nearly doubled compared to last year, with shipments reaching 642,981 60-kilogram bags, reflecting over 90% growth.

This surge, attributed to a strong harvest and favorable global prices, resulted in earnings of $198.6 million—over 200% higher than the previous March.

Over the last year, Uganda earned $1.8 billion from coffee exports, significantly up from approximately $1 billion the previous year. Uganda remains Africa’s largest coffee exporter, focusing primarily on robusta production.
