Akani Simbine won the 100m in Keqiao, China, with a time of 9.98 seconds, narrowly defeating Jamaican Kishane Thompson (9.99). Simbine expressed frustration with his start but was pleased to secure the win.

Armand “Mondo” Duplantis won the pole vault with a meeting-record height of 6.11m, failing to clear 6.28m. He is focusing on training ahead of the world championships in Tokyo.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh of Ukraine won the high jump, clearing 2.00m on her first attempt.

Karsten Warholm won the men’s 400m hurdles with a time of 47.28 seconds but did not break his world record.

Quincy Hall finished eighth in the men’s 400m after returning from an injury, while Christopher Bailey won in 44.17 seconds.

Cordell Tinch posted the fourth-fastest time ever in the men’s 110m hurdles with 12.87 seconds.
