Modou Lamin Ndow, serving a sentence at Mile Two Central Prison, has escaped custody.

The Gambia Prison Service has launched a search for him and is appealing to the public for any information regarding his whereabouts.

Ndow reportedly escaped while taking out the garbage outside the prison premises.

ASP Luke Jatta, a representative of the Gambia Prison Service, verified the escape to ARPS. He remarked, “He faced charges and was found guilty of theft and burglary. Initially, he received a sentence of three years for the first charge and one year for the second. However, he appealed to the Court of Review, which modified his sentence to two years for each charge.”
