Rapper One Pac has officially announced his decision to boycott the ‘Best of the Best’ concert, an annual event that showcases Gambian artists. He cited feeling undermined and disrespected by the organizers as the primary reason for his stance.

In a protest video, he stated, “This year, I am choosing to boycott the Best of the Best concert because I refuse to tolerate disrespect. I am not insignificant; I excel at what I do. In previous years, they excluded me from their concerts. Their actions reveal a lack of integrity and a disregard for the industry.”

One Pac also expressed his feelings of being underpaid and disrespected, particularly regarding a flyer listing the featured artists for the concert. He claimed that his inclusion on the list was insincere, alleging that the event organizers have long been working against him. “This year, due to public demand, they finally wanted to include me in their concert and offered me 15,000 dalasis. While I considered participating for the sake of Gambia, I was then listed under ‘upcoming artists,’ which is a clear affront to me,” he explained.

“I want you all to know that I am a beacon of light. The year 2025 is mine, and I am the one to watch. I deserve respect and will reclaim it if it is not given to me. Therefore, this year, I am saying no to the Best of the Best concert and their disrespectful flyers and treatment toward me,” he concluded.
