President Adama Barrow has paid tribute to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, referring to him as a “great president” and “great human.” Jimmy Carter, who served as U.S. president from 1977 to 1981, passed away at 100, making him the longest-living President in American history.

In his tribute, President Barrow commended Carter’s legacy as a champion of human rights, emphasizing that his example should inspire all leaders. “What he accomplished after his presidency is remarkable. He dedicated his entire life to supporting humanity. His social nature encourages all presidents, showing that there is truly life after the presidency,” he stated.

He continued, “On behalf of myself, my family, and the entire Gambian people, I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the American ambassador, the President of the United States, and the government.

“We mourn the passing of Jimmy Carter, but his numerous achievements will ensure that he is remembered fondly,” he added.
