Tensions have escalated at the Farafenni border between Gambia and Senegal over a dispute regarding vehicle passage on Thursday, August 8. The Gambia Police Force has proactively responded by sending a senior officer to Senegal for negotiations.

Video footage depicts a group of young individuals blocking a Senegalese vehicle from entering The Gambia. A Gambian police officer is seen addressing the individuals, advising them against taking matters into their own hands. He reassures them that a police commissioner is already in talks with his Senegalese counterpart to resolve the issue peacefully and outlines a clear action plan.
