Police Arrest Six Suspected Robbers

The Gambia Police Force has arrested over 20 individuals in separate incidents involving robbery, gang violence, and murder in Brufut Heights, Wellingara, and Basse, with investigations ongoing.

Police Arrest Six Suspected Robbers

The Anti-Crime Unit has apprehended six individuals in connection with the robbery incident at Brufut Heights, which involved a violent altercation resulting in damage to properties and vehicles. Additionally, the unit responded to a tip-off during a night patrol in Wellingara, leading to the arrest of over fourteen individuals involved in gang fights armed with cutlasses and knives, destroying property and vehicles. The suspects are currently in custody and are cooperating with the ongoing investigations. The Gambia Police Force reaffirms its commitment to upholding peace and security in the nation.

In a separate incident, a suspect has been arrested for an alleged murder in Basse, reported in the early hours of Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Following the discovery of a body in the streets of Basse, the police promptly responded and transported the body to Basse District Hospital for an initial medical examination. An investigation is underway, with a suspect already in custody.
