Bakary K. Badjie, the national assembly representative for Foni Berefet, expressed disappointment with Gambian President Adama Barrow’s State of the Nation Address, highlighting the absence of crucial topics affecting citizens. He noted the President’s failure to address the escalating issues related to the rampant Kush drug, which has claimed the lives of numerous young people. Additionally, he pointed out the absence of plans to tackle inflation, insecurity, and other pressing challenges facing the country.
The assembly representative emphasized the need for President Barrow to provide concrete strategies for addressing these critical issues. His remarks coincided with President Barrow’s address, which occurred during a period marked by a concerning increase in Kush-drug-related incidents, resulting in multiple fatalities. Furthermore, he questioned the allocation of 300 million dalasis for fertilizer subsidies, advocating for a more sustainable approach, such as using organic fertilizer, which has demonstrated significant benefits
