Gambian female entrepreneurs will participate in a significant gathering of women entrepreneurs from the continent, hosted by Absa Bank Kenya and the International Trade Centre’s (ITC) SheTrades Kenya Hub. This collaboration demonstrates the dedication of these organizations to empowering women entrepreneurs in Africa.
The Absa InspireMe Conference aims to reach over 10,000 women entrepreneurs across Africa. This annual event, part of Absa Bank’s commitment to women in business, was launched in 2021. The conference provides opportunities for market linkages, business-to-business networking, and business mentorship for women entrepreneurs. It aligns with Absa’s new brand promise – Your Story Matters – which emphasizes the bank’s customer-centric approach. Elizabeth Wasunna, Absa Bank’s Business Banking Director, expressed excitement about hosting the conference in Nairobi again, highlighting the mission to create a platform that empowers African women in business to share ideas, support each other, and discuss trends and skills for organizational transformation and growth.
Last week, Ms. Wasuna delivered a speech at the press conference hosted at the Absa Headquarters in Nairobi. This year’s conference will unite female entrepreneurs from Absa-partnered countries such as Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Mauritius, and Uganda, as well as from countries participating in SheTrades Hubs in Africa, including Mauritius, Rwanda, South Africa, Ghana, The Gambia, and Nigeria.
