The team achieved a commendable victory over Tujereng, which was recognized as the fourth-place team.

This decision was made after a recent Committee meeting aimed at resolving the controversial playoff match between the two teams. Steve Biko has been awarded D30,000 and bronze medals for their achievement, while Tujereng has received D20,000 for their efforts.

Lamin Kaba Bajo, President of the GFF and the competition’s sponsor, has congratulated both teams for their dedication over the past two years. He expressed his commitment to integrating the Beach Soccer tournament into the GFF’s official calendar in the future.

Notable figures attended the award ceremony, including Abou Khan, Chairman of the GFF Beach Soccer Committee; Mafugi Jatta, Secretary General; and Lamin M. Jassey, GFF General Secretary, along with players from both teams.

In a display of sportsmanship, Bajo praised the competitive spirit demonstrated throughout the tournament and encouraged continued support for beach soccer in The Gambia. Recognizing these teams marks an essential step in promoting the sport within the nation.
