Investigators of the Gambia Police Force (GPF) are now searching for clues to find out how the Mandinari man ended up dead.
Identified as Yaya Suwaneh, who lived in Mandinari, was on Tuesday found dead in his pool blood, which the police believed the man allegedly committed suicide. But police says they cannot rule out for now until the investigation completes.
Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sisawo, the acting spokesperson GPF said extensive searches were launched in looking for clues. He encouraged the public to help the police with their investigations.
When asked whether there was a foul play in the case, he replied: “We are yet to receive any information that suggests he was murdered. But also investigation is currently ongoing. Once the investigation is done, we will inform the public.”

Tuesday, November 21, 2023: GPF investigates an alleged suicide of Yaya Suwaneh, a resident of Mandinary.
The 22 year old was urgently transported to Banjulunding Health Center due to alleged self-inflicted injuries resulting in severe blood loss. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The police will continue investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
The public is strongly encouraged to come forward with information relevant to assist in the investigation.
