A family breadwinner in old Yundum is urgently seeking help. On Thursday, June 20, their entire home was engulfed in flames, leaving them without shelter.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but there is suspicion of an electric spark since it occurred after Greater Banjul and some parts of the country experienced rain for the first time.
Pap Saho, the head of the family, informed APS Media that they currently need food and clothing. “The fire destroyed all our clothes, my children’s school uniforms, and books. We have nothing left; our entire house was burned down. My family and I lost everything in the fire. We don’t even have enough to eat right now,” he pleaded desperately.
The neighbors have kindly provided some corrugated sheets to help the family have temporary shelter until they receive further assistance to rebuild.
