Authorities have reported the apprehension of six individuals associated with a violent gang that has been causing fear in the community of Brufut. It is said that the gang, armed with knives and daggers, has caused harm to multiple residents and has stolen a substantial amount of money as well as valuable items, including mobile phones.

Following a violent incident, the police anti-crime officers promptly initiated a search operation, leading to the apprehension of the gang members and the confiscation of their weapons. Providing an update on the situation at a press conference, Police anti-crime chief commissioner Momodou Sowe disclosed that the gang members were found in possession of dangerous weapons such as daggers and knives. He stated that the individuals had attacked the property of Abdul Lamin and Mbakey Sowe in Brufut Heights, causing significant property damage.

During the altercation, they also assaulted the security guard, Morro Ceesay, who works for Mbakey Sowe, leaving him injured. Morro Ceesay is currently receiving medical treatment at Kanifing General Hospital.

The individuals from the gang burglarized Abdul Lamin’s home. They stole his Techno Pop 5 mobile phone valued at D5000.00, a Solar light valued at D1,000.00, two wristwatches labeled Cartis and Seiko, each valued at 40 dollars, and D30,000.00 in his black bag. In addition to the stolen items, Abdul Lamin sustained an injury to his left hand during the altercation.

Abdul mentioned that the assailants proceeded to the residence of Mbakey Sowe and collectively attacked and stabbed the security guard, Morro Ceesay, on the left side of his ribs before entering the house. Despite their intrusion, no valuables were taken. Muhammed Sowe, also known as Desseh, was apprehended and provided information about his accomplices’ whereabouts at Skys Apartment in Bijilo. Abdul also mentioned that the investigators then executed a raid on the apartment and apprehended the following individuals in room “G”: Assan Sowe (also known as Sessco), Sheriff Dibba (aka C’ Boy), Ousman Ceesay (aka OC), Ousman Fatajo, and Ida Faal. Three daggers and a crowbar wrapped in brown paper were discovered during the search. The CSI team collected these items for further analysis.
