Nigeria’s President Asks Lawmakers To Approve An Extra $4 Billion In Spending

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to approve an additional 6.2 trillion naira ($4 billion) in spending to cover budget shortfalls, proposing a windfall tax on banks’ foreign exchange profits to fund infrastructure, education, healthcare, and welfare, while also addressing economic challenges with a new stimulus plan.
