The National Assembly Members have been allocated a substantial total of D81,840,000 for their responsibilities in 2025, covering residential, robing, telephone, house rent, sitting, and constituency allowances.
From the overall sum of D80,688,000, the Speaker will receive D1,200,000 for responsibility, residential, professional, and robbing allowances, along with an additional D108,000 designated for telephone expenses, which will be shared with the Deputy Speaker. A significant D10,260,000 has been allocated to National Assembly Members for house rent, and D8,910,000 is earmarked for sitting allowances.
Furthermore, the NAMs will be entitled to a basic car allowance of D34,800,000 and a constituency allowance of D22,260,000. The clothing allowance for NAMs is set to increase from D672,000 in 2024 to D1,152,000 in 2025.
Additionally, nominated NAMs will receive a responsibility allowance of D2,100,000, while the majority and minority leaders will receive D510,000, with their deputies granted D240,000.
